Legal disclaimers and privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
Please read this document carefully before using the CronchLog mobile application (the "App"). By accessing or using CronchLog, you agree to be bound by the terms, disclaimers, and privacy practices outlined below. If you do not agree, do not use CronchLog.
1. No medical advice disclaimer
CronchLog is provided for informational and educational purposes only.
- Not Medical Services: CronchLog does not provide medical advice, professional diagnoses, opinions, treatments, or healthcare services.
- Consult Your Doctor: The metabolic formulas, calorie tracking tools, and dietary insights generated by CronchLog are generalized estimates. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult a physician or qualified healthcare provider before starting any new diet, calorie restriction, or weight loss program.
- Emergency Situations: Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read or calculated within CronchLog.
2. Accuracy of data and formulas disclaimer
CronchLog relies on standardized mathematical models and user-inputted parameters to estimate nutritional and caloric values.
- Mifflin-St Jeor Equation: For calculating your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE), CronchLog implements the Mifflin-St Jeor equation. While statistically recognized as a highly reliable predictive formula for healthy adults, it uses generalized statistical averages based on age, sex, height, and weight. It does not account for individual medical conditions, body composition (fat vs. muscle mass), or specific metabolic variations.
- No Guarantees: We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, correctness, or reliability of any caloric data, nutritional values, database entries, or metabolic calculations provided by CronchLog. All calculations should be treated as estimates rather than exact figures.
3. Limitation of liability and assumption of risk
You expressly agree that your use of CronchLog is at your sole risk.
- Assumption of Risk: You assume full responsibility for any lifestyle, dietary, or health modifications you make based on the information provided by CronchLog.
- No Damages: In no event shall the developer of CronchLog be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages—including but not limited to personal injury, illness, health complications, or data loss—resulting from your use or inability to use CronchLog.
4. Privacy policy & data storage
We value your privacy and have designed CronchLog to require zero data collection.
- No User Accounts: CronchLog does not utilize user accounts, profiles, or login credentials. You can use CronchLog immediately without providing any personal identification.
- No Server Collection: We do not collect, harvest, upload, or transmit any data to external servers or third parties.
- 100% Local Storage: Any information you enter—including food names, calorie values, and basic body metrics (such as height, weight, age, and sex used for formula calculations)—is stored strictly on your local device within CronchLog's isolated storage space.
- No Identifiable Information: Because we do not ask for your name, email, phone number, device ID, or location, the local data remains completely anonymous and unlinked to your identity.
- Data Erasure: Uninstalling CronchLog or clearing CronchLog's storage cache through your device settings will permanently erase all your data. We have no way to recover or restore this data for you.
5. Regulatory compliance and app store requirement
This privacy policy is maintained to comply with the transparency rules mandated by major app distribution platforms (such as the Apple App Store and Google Play Store). Because CronchLog does not collect, process, or transmit personal data or protected health information (PHI), it operates outside the scope of server-side regulatory frameworks like GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
